Organizations

CHURCH COUNCIL

As the executive agency of the Charge Conference, this board has oversight of the administration and program of the local church. The Board consists of chairpersons of each committee and organization of the church as well as members at large.

CHURCH LIFE and OUTREACH

This committee is responsible for the spiritual health and social life of the church as well as mission opportunities. It also plans coffee hours, Soup & Sandwich luncheons, special events, and the annual Family Fall Retreat.

WORSHIP & MUSIC COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for the order and conduct of worship, for bulletins, tor scheduling lay readers, special music, and stewards to prepare the communion elements.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

This committee oversees Sunday School classes, kindergarten through adult. The curriculum encourages individual religious growth and a systematic broadening of biblical knowledge. It also provides infant care during worship services.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

This organization engages in activities which foster growth in Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement.

CHURCH STREET COMMUNITY NURSERY SCHOOL

Established in 1971, this non-denominational school offers preschoolers enrichment in socialization and growth of creative and intellectual expressions. Kindergarten readiness is encouraged through a whole language approach and attention span development with the use of challenging and fun activities.

STAFF/PASTOR PARISH RELATIONS COMMITTEE

This committee counsels and confers with the pastor and staff on matters pertaining to their relationship with the congregation including their priorities of time and responsibilities.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the church and parsonage properties at the direction of the Administrative Board.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

This committee is responsible for preparing and presenting the annual budget to the Administrative Board. It also develops the plan and method of securing pledges, gifts and tithes to underwrite the expenses of the church.

NOMINATIONS & PERSONNEL COMMITTEE

This committee recruits and nominates to the Charge Conference persons to fill the positions on the committees and organizations as mandated by the Church Discipline.
